Web technology saves the day again!

Live video webcasts will enable deployed servicemembers to see their high school graduating senior cross the stage and view student messages recorded for the occasion.  The collective effort is intended to give graduating students and deployed parents the opportunity to share in this life event.

The Department of Defense Dependents Schools – Europe, U.S. Army Europe, and the U.S. Army 5th Signal Command have combined assets, talents, and technologies to enable the live video streaming. The effort will allow 14 graduation ceremonies to be viewed by an estimated 125 deployed parents in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world.

The first graduation ceremony will be webcast on June 10 from Naples, Italy, with four additional ceremonies occurring around Europe on this day. Five graduation ceremonies will take place on June 11. Two ceremonies will be webcast on Saturday and two ceremonies on Sunday. The last webcast occurs on the evening of June 13 from Vicenza, Italy.
